Thursday, August 29th, 2002 @ 12:44pm. Category: KMorg. No updates for a few days… busy busy busy. Anway thigns are going well, trying to work stuff out so I can actually live here, argh. Anyway… almost took the chem department’s advanced placement test but the idiots down in my enrollment office rather lacked the knowledge to help me get another class to take the place of my 5-hour chem.
Me: So if I do pass this test, what are my options?
Her: Well, I could enroll you in another course now, and then we’d drop whichever one we needed to on Monday.
Me: Ok, so what’s open? Can I get into the next chem?
Her: There’s a lecture for that open, yes.
Me: Great, when’s the lab?
Her: The lab’s not open.
Me: I fail to understand the logic of that.
Her: You can take American History.
Me: Ah…. what else is available?
Her: American History or a chem lecture.
Me: But no chem lab.
Her: Yes.
Me: Then it’s not really an option, is it?
Her: You’d have to take them both, since you’ll need another few hours with the American History to still be enrolled full-time.
Me: But I can’t take the lab.
Her: No, that’s not open.
Me: What about some other classes?
Her: I don’t know about those. It’ll take me a while to check, give me a few minutes.
Me: Well, ah, thanks anyway, I think I’ll just stick with my classes as they are…
I got pretty annoyed dealing with her. I don’t think she was all there today.
What have I been up to… well, I’ve been getting insanely lonely and uncomfortable in my room so I’m usually hanging out doing nothing or doing homework in Ryan and Paul’s room. The cafeteria rocks here; it’s better than what I get at home. Aaron is rushing. He wonders why the rest of us aren’t rushing, since we’ll get the “honies” (Aaron is white. He listens to Eminem. He tries to be black a lot.) if we joined a frat, and of course the equivalent for me and a sorority. We just laughed.
Oh, and the water here, when not painfully cold, tastes like dog hair. It’s very hard to brush my teeth. Yuck. Thank goodness for Sam’s Choice Purified Drinking Water. 2.5 dollars gets you 240 ounces of generally unflavored wet goodness.
