Sunday, December 1st, 2002 @ 11:11pm. Category: KMorg.Well, the week was going well (I went out again Friday night with some band people from high school). Ryan got into a wreck. He’s ok (few scrapes and a little sore), but his car is in shambles.
Ryan’s car keeps dying whenever he slows it down, and is having shifting problems as well. It was presumed fixed and safe enough to drive back to Norman with. It died on I-40 this evening not too far from Yukon, while he was stuck in traffic. He tried to start it, and somehow mis-shifted when it finally did start. He was trying to pull over to the shoulder, and instead of “drive” he ended up in reverse. He smashed the back passenger corner of his car, and his side is dented in from hitting the car behind him. Ryan was so bewildered that he didn’t even know he’d hit the car behind him, and was so confused when the guy was shouting at him to exchange insurance information that he didn’t even realize until about 11 tonight that he didn’t get the guy’s insurance carrier (policy # tho, and thinks it’s All State), no driver’s license number/state, had no area code for the phone number, and no city for the address. He didn’t call the highway patrol or police b/c it didn’t hit him that he’d need a police report the insurance.
Ryan suggested that I take Charles with me and meet him in Yukon. We do, move his stuff from his car to mine, and take his car to one of his dad’s friends in Yukon. Charles, having been through a number or wrecks, explained to him the proper steps to take after getting into one, for his future reference. It was a long drive home.
Ryan’s in a very bad mood. The wreck didn’t help him feel better about not understanding his calculus. His mother thought he looked sick before he left and shoved Tylenol Cold and Flu at him before he left– she was right, he really doesn’t look very well. He might have a slight ulcer, too, he found out when he went home. It really hasn’t been his week.
