I miss arguing with complete authority that I know everything connected to a topic, and that my way is right. (I went to state; I placed. I can say that. :-)
I miss late nights spent cutting evidence, re-writing the case, rebuilding DA’s and kritiks.
I miss shopping for sexy power suits. Shopping for a good debate suit is the only kind of shopping I’ve ever liked.
I miss long bus rides to tournaments with pantyhose under my jeans and an evidence tub devoted solely to dress clothes and food.
I miss hanging out in random schools’ cafeterias with friends. I miss wandering around a school looking for fun things to do.
I miss the liberal views on drug use. (Not that I did anything, mind you.)
I miss the hotels. I miss the late nights spent playing quaters and knuckles. I /almost/ miss walking in and finding people in various states of un-dress.
I miss the tired bus rides home on a Friday night, knowing full well that in 4 hours I’ll be back on that same bus. I miss the puzzle of loading the evidence and the evidence carts. I miss getting cozy with friends and using them as pillows on the ride home.
I miss the camaraderie. I miss the outlet arguing brought. I miss the research. I miss twisting words just so to get the perfect effect.
*sigh* I’m a bit nostalgic tonight. Hopefully there will be a network party tomorrow and I’ll have lots of fun and won’t be stuck here with absolutely nothing to do.
