Well, that’s not entirely true, I feel like talking, and I also feel like crap. Can’t do much about the not feeling well part, but I sure can pretend like I’m talking.
Kea finally showed up sometime this evening. I was wondering if her parents would come up during the week and move her out… but nope, she’s here for this semester, although she claims she’s not going to try very hard at all.
I had some Peppermint Patty(ie?) juice run down my throat into my windpipe today. A little lesson for you all: menthol is NOT good for your windpipe.
I’ve been listening to Stanley Climbfall every minute I can. If I can find some triple-A batteries I’m going to rip the cd and put it on my MP3 player. I have a theory about music and cd’s and preferences for songs. I’ve noticed in people other than me (but including me) that a song that isn’t the hit single from the cd often becomes a favorite off that album. Usually the hit single has been made into a video that’s hard to dissociate with the song. Perhaps because there are no pre-existing preferences for the meanings, feelings, and visions of the other songs on a cd the listener is allowed to come up with his/her own set of ideas with a song, and that could very well explain the preference for the other song. Got my books this morning at a nicely un-busy bookstore. I walked in and nearly immediately had a saleswoman offer to grab all my books for me. Little tip if anybody is considering going to OU concerning textbooks: Yes, Sooner Textbooks are affiliated with Boomer Book Co. , but Sooner wins amazing points in the customer service dept. over Boomer books. Sooner has found prices for me on the phone, and even in a busy store I was helped with very little wait (of course, even during the wait I was able to wander around and find my texts. The help knows the shelves better than I do, so it’s nice to be helped). At Boomer, I was spoken to very rudely on the phone, and when I went with Ryan to get his supposedly reserved textbooks, they had conveniently not actually reserved them at all. The University Bookstore is pretty average. There are higher prices overall, but more used books. They’ll also buy your new used books for much more than any of the other places (a sure explaination for the amount of used books).
Early classes tomorrow, but not a bad load. I’m not looking forward at all to Wednesday– an 8.30 start, and besides a break for lunch I’m in class until 5.45 that night.
Hope everyone else’s classes are going well.
