I know I haven’t posted in a while… busy… I’ll try to post more often.

I got this in an e-mail from my mom today:

Had kind of a trying day. Rachel was out of school for parent teacher conferences. I was at work and dad was in Tulsa with his evil District Manager (HA HA). Anyway I get this call about noon from Rachel, hysterical and in tears. Seems Angela is took an overdose of several drugs and called Rachel to say “goodbye”. So Rachel kept her on the cell phone while running (through the cold, wet streets in a t-shirt, PJ pants, and house shoes) to Angela’s house, calls 911 and keeps Angela talking and walking until the ambulance came. That’s when Rachel called me and Angela’s mother. They took her in and pumped her stomach - not a pleasant process from what I understand. She is probably going to be OK. They put her in ICU so they can watch her closely overnight and monitor her blood tests - she took a lot of Tylenol and that is even more dangerous than the muscle relaxers, etc. because it can permantly damage your liver but the damage doesn’t show up for 24 hours or so. Anyway, if she is contineus to be OK physically they are sending her to Carl Albert for a psych consult so she will get on antidepressants and counseling. Anyway, needless to say it was a very emotionally draining day. We came home about an hour ago and Rachel went right to bed. She, literally, saved Angela’s life the ER nurse said. Even 15 to 30 more minutes and the liver damage would probably have been catastrophic. So, pray for Rachel and Angela.

If I believed in fate I might say that my sister’s suicide attempts happened for the reason that she’d know what to do when it happened to one of her friends. I am so immensly proud of her I don’t know what to say. I go to build a house for anonymous people in Mexico just so it will look good on scholarship applications, but she– she actually made a difference. I’m speechless.
