My sister has decided to move out. She’s 18 now, so there’s nothing my parents can do about it. She still has a year left of high school. She’s also stopped taking her Prozac. She feels that she’s “depending too much” on our parents and that she wants to see if she can make it. She’s moving in with two guys to a two-room appartment. They are all just friends, but they are extremely bad influences on her. Since meeting them she’s dropped her veganism, flunked multiple classes (even when taking some the second time around), turned Baptist, forsaken other friends she’s known for years, and generally became very irritable and mean. Out of all the people to be moving in with, these are not them. Of course, I imagine her decision has a lot to do with those guys. Supposedly she decided this very quickly. She’s out at a job interview right now, supposedly. My parents came home to catch her when she gets back. She’s already moved most of her stuff out, even the pieces of furniture that weren’t hers. My mother’s taking this very badly and has retreated to the bedroom and shut the door. My father is cleaning– he cleans when he’s upset, and now the entire living room is spotless. Oh, the joys of having a family wherein everyone else is on an anti-depressant!

In quite other news: I applied for a temp job at the local USDA office– I’ve got an interview Wednesday morning. Here’s hoping things go well. I also got the date wrong for my dentist appointment, had to schedule another one for 7am in a few weeks.

Great day so far!
