Work posts 4-ever
Tuesday, June 8th, 2004 @ 5:21pm. Category: General.I love posting from work. It’s got that excitement to it– will I get caught? Will they even know what I’m doing? It’s fun. Of course, now I’m the computer guru here so most likely Dr. Duncan wouldn’t even care. She’s up on a conference call right now and Mandy is writing up gel protocols. I’m bored, so I shall post.
Ryan got the job at the dollar theater. He doesn’t make much money, but it’s a lot of hours so it balances out. The only problem is that he’s working on all the weekends. So when Paul, Thai, Jason, and Chuck come up this weekend to see Chronicles of Riddick and/or The Stepford Wives he can’t come with us. He’s off Tuesday-Thurs, which he says suits him fine, but I know he’s unhappy about not seeing movies with everyone (and the subsequent imbibing of liquor) this weekend.
Sean’s gone home for a few days. It’s going to be really weird not going over there tonight. I’ve really got to get caught up with my notes in biochem so, I suppose I’ll keep busy. Ryan’s off work as well, so perhaps I can catch the Daily Show at his place instead. Sean will call this evening, and that’s always something to look forward to.
My financial aid came in yesterday. It’s in the form of a PLUS federal loan to my parents. I probably should have asked my parents if they really wanted to take out the full amount of my award, but they are currently on a cruise to Alaska and I need that money. I’m going to have to pay back ~10k for undergrad work so I suppose that $2700 in their name will be a worthy and proper investment into my education.
At 5 or so today we’re going to spin down the cells in the big scary centrifuge. I’d really like to get out of here around 4, so I have time to take a nap before starting homework. I could use the hours, but it’s really rather boring here. Perhaps I should knit…
Yesterday was a really good day. I can’t really say why– I just woke up happy and stayed that way all day. At work yesterday we ate a local place called The Greek House, which serves awesome gyros. It’s one of my new favorite eateries. :-) After work I took a shower and went over to Sean’s, where I did laundry and read a lot for biochem. Laundry’s very convenient if I don’t have to trudge across half the complex to do it. I’ve been feeling so comfortable around him that not having him close by is going to take a lot of getting used to. But we’ll make do. I know it. :-)
