I haven’t really watched TV as a passtime in a long time. Sure, I’d get my fill of Adult Swim and Daily Show and Cheers at Sean’s, but turning on the TV because I needed something to do hasn’t been part of my lifestyle since I left home. (Last summer I watched a lot of TV, but that was part of a scheme to distract me from breaking up with Ryan.) I’m watching HGTV right now. The commercials are making me nostalgic. They make me think of winter nights home alone, and summers where I’d wakeup at sunrise for no apparent reason. I’ve got a book I’m reading that I really like, but tv’s just too appealing at night. I’m tired and I get lonely. It’s like having people over, but never having to worry about conversation.
