Ice
Thursday, January 6th, 2005 @ 4:07am. Category: General.A nice big winter storm came through last night, and left the town with a dusting of snow and a coating of ice. The roads are terrible. I’m guessing I won’t be leaving the house until Friday, and I imagine that’s when Paul will finally come back to town so we can hang out. Can’t wait until Charles can come back too, I haven’t seen him since I came back up here.
Tuesday Sean came up to see me. I got him all of Strangers with Candy and he got me Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Super Mario World Advance 2, Bubble Bobble, and Super Mario Bros. 3. We watched a few episodes of Strangers before he had to go back. I was hoping to get some lunch with him, but he was a pansy enjoying my company and didn’t want to go out in the cold unless he had to.
Tuesday OU also lost to USC. Badly. I don’t even want to type out the score. I got a call from a very sloshed Ryan telling me about how the game sucked and about all the drama at work, too. Later that night Jason drunk-IM’d me. I guess I might’ve gotten plastered too if I had people to do it with. That game was a thoroughly awful experience.
So today the weather’s been pretty bad, and the appartment, by this evening, had gotten down to about 60F. My room was only 70F thanks to the nice heat-production device that is my beloved AMD system. Amber can’t stand it being so “cold” and decided to turn on the heat. I promptly closed my vent and discovered that it only stopped about half the air flow. No problem! I’ll use my duct tape and left-over Christmas packaging to make it better. Except I can’t find my duct tape. In the end I had to rig up this mess of washcloths and old pajama shorts:

While not as efficient as a solution using tape might be, it works decently enough for my purposes. I grabbed that picture with my (1st-to-the-market-1.3 megapixel) phone and shrank it for your viewing pleasure. Color came out pretty decent, too. :-) I love my new phone.
