Melissa came back to Norman today. She’s been in Dubai for almost a month, and brought back presents for everyone. For me she got me what appeared to be one deep violet-almost black pashmina scarf– and it turned out to be four of them clinging together! The scarf was already cheap compared to what we’d pay here for it, but she quadrupled her savings. It’s soooo soft and warm, too. She remembered the black shawl/scarf thing I always wore and thought I’d appreciate something that wasn’t 100% acrylic.

Seems everybody’s idea was to get me a scarf this year. I’ve got a nice fluffy one from my grandmother. I’ve got scarves of enough basic colors now to match any outfit. Maybe next year I”ll try for mittens. :-)
