(appropriate song lyric)
Friday, May 6th, 2005 @ 4:50am. Category: General.Today was a series of ups and downs. Mostly ups, though. Got up at the early hour of 8am to take my Immunology final at 9am. I came out with an 84, which was a little frustrating since unbeknownst to me until this morning I had an 88 in the class and could have pulled an A if I did better on the test. Of course, all my other tests have scored about the same and somehow I’ve ended up with a high B. Afterwards I got to sleep in my favorite comfy chair at the Union for almost 2 hours. French was fun– our teacher got accepted to teach in France, so it quite the celebratory day. We reviewd for the final and decided to have a food day tomorrow. I will bring popcorn.
After that I napped (again) in the Union and had a fine smoothie and some chips for lunch. Philosophy was up next. I was worried about my Philosophy paper, but I made 30/30 points on it. I will probably post it tomorrow in lieu of an actual update. We got a stellar review from out GA, whom I wish had been teaching the course this entire time. He explains things in a much clearer fashion and has a wider knowledge of subjects outside of philosophy versus our actual professor. I like Dr. Zagzebeski, but she’s got her head in the clouds half the time. I also got around to facebooking a couple of friends from the class. On the last day of class. I’ll know what they’re up to next semester, at least.
I then called Jay and left a message, per his instructions. I went to the library and slept (again) while waiting for him to call me back and inform me he was out of class. 3.20 rolled around and he still hadn’t called, so I decided I would get some errands done before debate and we’d do something later on. This worked fine until I got to the part that involves driving my car. I had thrown my bag in my trunk, and at the last moment decided I should throw my jacket in there, too. My car keys were in my jacket. I knew I had a spare key somewhere– hopefully not in my bookbag– and so I called up Paul and Chuck to see if they’d give me a ride to my apartment. No answer. It was about 3.45– where was Jay? I gave Jay a call, and he had just now gotten out class, and was willing to help me in my search for the spare key. Unfortunately my spare key was not in my apartment, and we had to wait on a locksmith. What was at first quite frustrating was actually quite enjoyable in the end– I got to hang out with Jay until the debate meeting tonight. :-)
Debate was fun. We are running a camp for the first time this summer, and it will be completely unorganized and entirely chaotic. I’ve been out of the loop for about 3 years, yet I will be part of the staff. Somehow. I’m a girl, girls need more girl staffers in a male-dominated field. Or something. And I’ll be around for it, which seems to be the largest reason to add me. I have no clue what I’ll do (probably wrangling of the campers) but it should be an interesting experience at least.
Afterwards I had some dinner and Jay came over to watch Venture Bros and Daily Show. We had a wonderful time. I am so happy I get to go to the Improv banquet with him this Saturday. I get to dress up and attend with somebody who is superkeen.
