Keeping Busy.

Today I got up at the early hour of 12.30pm, showered, made a fried egg + tomato sandwhich, and proceded to do nothing for a while before deciding that I needed to get girly and go shopping. I burned a new mix cd and headed to the mall to take advantage of both Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Works’ semi-annual sales. I love how they have their sales at the same time (it’s easy when they’re both owned by the same company).

First up was Victoria’s Secret. I’m an odd size (32C) so I have to go up a size (34B) to really find anything. Most of the slightly-larger bras fit, as the cup size is the same as the 32C and the bands on the 34B bras usually go small enough for me. Usually I find at least one or two bras that I must have, but this time something wasn’t clicking. I couldn’t find anything that both looked good on me and was comfortable. Maybe I was retaining water today, or maybe I was retaining less, or maybe the planets aligning screwed it all up. Either way on the phone with Jay this evening I promised I’d go look again with him when he was back in town.

Bath and Bodyworks was a little more productive. I bought a huuuuge thing of Sweet Cherry Blossom handsoap, and picked up some more Mango Mandarin shower gel for ten.08 total. Not bad. :-) I really wanted to get a new scent, but I couldn’t find anything that really took me. The cherry stuff smells good for handsoap, but the bath version was entirely too sweet for my tastes. I flirted with Warm Vanilla Sugar, but the sugar was too much for me and I had to leave it for my old standby. I’ve been wearing Mango Mandarin for 2 or 3 years now, and I’m just getting a little bored with it. I like nice clean scents, but so many of the “clean” scents give me headaches.

I think I was just too picky to go shopping today. After I got out of the mall I gave Paul a call to see what was up about the Harry Potter books. I suggested dinner, he suggested I come over, and so I came. When I got there Jason directed me to Paul’s room. Paul was practicing guitar and so he didn’t hear me walk into his room. According to him I “scared the shit out of [him]… seriously, fuck, Amy… god…” Always nice to have a memorable entrance, I suppose. Paul retrieved the books, and we stood in the living room for a few minutes deciding where to eat. We could have just walked out the door and avoided Jason (Paul knows we don’t get along as well as we used to) but I told Jason we were going to go eat, so Jason came along too. I was told many drunken antics as we ate our sandwhiches, and we discussed how Jason’s band was coming along. Afterwards I left for Jay’s appartment, as that’s where my bananas were, and that’s were the good shower is.

Upon arrival I checked the mail (junk mail yay), turned the AC back on, put banana bread in the oven, took a shower, talked to Jay, played a teeny bit of FFVII, retrieved the bread and went back to my place. I considered sleeping at his place, but my place feels so novel now that it’s more fun at my place. I’m finishing up some book-keeping for class and tomorrow I plan to spend an afternoon with FFVII if I can.
