Short Bit about SeaMonkey

Saturday, February 18th, 2006 @ 9:26pm. Category: Reviews.

Mozilla corrupted my profile after trying to view a quicktime movie of a Nike ad (said ad also caused a bluescreen). Since I was going to need a new profile anyway, I decided I’d give SeaMonkey a try.

SM is a lot faster than Mozilla at loading pages. The memory usage seems to be down, too. Start-up time is about the same, I guess– I never really noticed the start-up time for Moz and I don’t notice it now for SM.

Right now I’ve got it set up almost exactly like my old Mozilla 1.7.6 installation. I only use 2 extensions (Adblock and Statusbar Clock) and they worked flawlessly. The only bugs I’ve had to deal with involve throbber problems and the arrangement of things on the statusbar.

Although I think I’m just messing around with it so much trying to avoid doing homework. :-)
