KMorg Done! Blosxom Done!

Blosxom posts are now uploaded!
I’m slowly getting the old KMorg posts in the proper form to import. They were exported in Movable Type export format, but Wordpress doesn’t quite understand all of it. Wordpress also was totally not setting the publish/draft stuff right when I tried to import it the first time, so now I’m making sure it gets that stuff correct by making sure the posts in the import file have the proper information.
I should note that the export did not get all of the comments that were posted, and those older than 2003 are missing. KillingMachines.org is long gone (both domain and probably that part of the database, since server failure smote the service) so we’ll just have to suffer.
Next will be my Blosxom blog posts. Those will hopefully go easier. Apparently nobody writes export scripts for the comments plug-in; they’re all for the (popular but inferior) writebacks plug-in. After I sleep I will go about either a) modifying the scripts to get the comments or b) import posts sans-comments, leading to the third comment disappearance in effika.net’s history. Comments seem so tricky to transfer properly.
There were no comments imported with the Blosxom posts. I do have every single one of the comment files, so maybe, if I get really bored, I’ll start entering them in one-by-one. Don’t count on it, though. Although if somebody wants to make a script to interpret comment files and export them in the Movable Type export format, I will allow that. :-P Just leave a comment!
After that it’s re-directing my old urls.
And then I’m going to find a way to get threaded comments here! (I’m really spoiled by threaded comments.)

It’s almost as if the comments don’t want to be transferred. Perhaps the very fate of the universe is at stake here!

If you figure out how to do threaded comments for Wordpress, let me know! I, too, have been spoiled by threaded comments with LiveJournal, but my Rainy Day Sunshine site is Wordpress. It’s hard to reply to comments when it’s not clear to whom I’m replying.
