Kaylee is Sick
Friday, June 9th, 2006 @ 2:10pm. Category: General, Pets.She was fine until at least 3:30am last night, because she wouldn’t leave us alone to let us sleep. This morning she didn’t come out of the other bedroom when Jay went to take a shower, and she ignored me when she finally did come out. She’s lethargic and won’t eat anything. She just plain looks sick, too. We got an appointment at 3pm. Our vet is out of town but left instructions on where to refer people too, so we’re going to a completely new vet on the other side of town, insted of just 5 minutes away.
We are about to get her in her carrier and start heading over. I hope Kaylee is ok.

We got back from the vet, who also doesn’t really know what’s wrong. The vet suspects maybe an obstructed bowel. We are to bring her in tomorrow after watching for any change in symptoms. Her blood came back fine (only thing out of ordinary was the glucose being slightly high– but since she was so stressed the vet figured that was the culprit), x-rays showed nothing. She had a fever of ~106 and a “tight” abdomen. We ended up with shots of Metacam, Baytril, and some subq fluids.
Jay is going to go GM his game tonight, but I am too worried to leave Kaylee alone all evening.

Oh no. I hope she’s ok. Having a sick pet is so frustrating because they can’t tell you what’s wrong or where it hurts. I always feel so helpless when something is wrong with one of my pets.
I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Do keep us posted.
