Look at all the cool stuff I did!

Wednesday:

Secret, free, early showing of Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest at the Harkins Theater. It’s not as good as the first movie, but it’s still pretty good. Also, if you hate movies that end on a “you must see the third movie to resolve the plot” note, you’ll be frustrated. The cliffhanger ending shouldn’t be much of a suprise to anyone, since they were filming 2 and 3 at the same time.

Have you ever had a meal so good that it ruined your meals for the rest of the day because everything else seemed boring and unappetizing in comparison? We went to lunch at Zio’s in Bricktown after the movie, where Jay and I shared the best pizza I have ever eaten. Plus, it was only $9.30 after tax! The pizza was amazing. Heavenly, golden crust with the freshest and tastiest of ingredients: tomato sauce (with bits of tomatoes in it), mozzarella cheese, ground sausage, bell peppers, red onions, black olives, mushrooms, and pepperoni. Normally I’m not a fan of “supreme” pizzas (too much grease and not enough taste), but everything in this pizza was perfectly balanced to present a pleasing and interesting palate.

Thursday:

So far today I have gotten a new pair of glasses ordered (came to a total of $35 with the insurance, which ends tomorrow). I woke up late, dragged Jay to bed for a while, then lazily took a shower before realizing I had an appointment at the opthamologist’s in 20 minutes. We rushed over, filled out paperwork, had my insurance card faxed to the office, and finally I got in to see the doctor. As those of you who know me in real life know, both of my lenses are cracked, one quite badly. The doctor had thought he’d seen everything that could happen to glasses, but when I told him the story of how my glasses were cracked (sneezed and my glasses hit my watch) he was impressed. The exam went quickly (which the doctor was thankful of— he told me I was the easiest patient all week) and then I was off to look for new frames. With the help of Jay and the receptionist I found a cute pair of frames that was only $15 after insurance. I had found a pair I liked better— a pair of Giorgio Armani titanium frames— but they were $270 and I didn’t think I could afford them. I was assured that the frames I did order looked completely natural on me and I have to agree— they looked almost better than my current (Ralph Lauren Polo, $335) frames. Since the doctor was so worried about my cracked lenses he insisted my lenses be rush-ordered at no cost to me. Tomorrow afternoon I should have a new pair of glasses! Yay for no waiting!

Tonight Jay and I are going to attend a lingerie party. Think Avon or Mary Kay parties, but with underwear to order instead. :-)

  1. An interesting couple of days. :)

A lingerie party sounds odd, but intriguing.
