Bookmarks and Time
Monday, July 3rd, 2006 @ 5:15pm. Category: General.I was cleaning up my bookmarks the other day, and realized I’d bookmarked several videos at places like YouTube. In light of this, I created a “Video” folder. It’s interesting to watch the progression of technology by the folders I create in my bookmarks. I remember creating folders for shockwave games, Internet radio stations (Imagine Radio was so awesome), and eventually changing the name of the “Friends’ Homepages” folder to “Weblogs”.
Oh, and remember how CDNow used to be the place to buy CDs? That seems forever ago.

I remember back when everyone had a webpage. The geocities craze. Then all the other places. There was crosswinds.net, which was free and had no ads and everyone was like ‘yeah woo’ and then they started having ads and everyone was like ‘bah.’ There was the come.to trend and all that jazz. Finally there were blogs, which didn’t require someone to justify the existence of their silly little webpage, because now they can just talk about themselves!

I know. It is self-depreciating disdain!
