Ok I Gotta Post More
Thursday, May 24th, 2007 @ 6:16pm. Category: General.Having a “normal” job is annoying. I feel like I never have enough time to write here, or subjects. The subjects I have interesting news about are REALLY INTERESTING but the sort of thing I’d get fired for posting.
Hmmm, let’s see.
My new computer was built without a hitch, except for the cheapo (but stylish!) case fighting me every step of the way and turning what should have been 45 minutes into 2.5 hours. It is fast and quiet and cool. Quick specs: Intel C2D 6600, 2 Gigs of DDR2 666MHz (I couldn’t fill up the fsb enough to warrant 800Mhz anyway), Geforce 8800GTS (320Meg version).
It felt kind of odd installing XP on this machine. I felt like I should have tried out something new and different, but I wanted the machine up quickly and wanted to play Sim City 4, so XP it was. Maybe I’ll re-partition the hard drive and try out some other OS’s for fun.
Just finished The Kite Runner. G already recommended it, and now I do, too. My copy of the book even had study questions in the back! If you want to analyze a book at the high school level and don’t know what book to get, I’d say this is it.
It feels like Friday. It’s only Thursday. :-/
I’m so tired and random. Jay and I have been trying to spend a lot of time with a good friend of ours who is moving away to Boston, and that has meant late nights during the work week. It’s really starting to catch up with us. I want to hang out tonight, too, but I think I may have to stay in so I can sleep and recover for Friday. Fridays are always really packed at work, plus after work there are two entirely separate groups of people who want to hang out (one of them including the moving friend) and I’m going to try to hit both.
My stomach is awful, yet I can’t stop eating these peperoncinis. I’ve recently started going through a jar of banana peppers a week, too. I must be craving Vitamin C and capsaicin. (Go on, click those. Take a 3-hour Wikipedia bender.) I still really dislike bell peppers, though. Too bitter.

Just so you know, the second Khaled Housseini novel just came out last week. It’s called A Thousand Splendid Suns. I’m in the middle of another novel right now, else I’d be reading it, but I have it on my shelf and it’s next on my list.
