Sunshine
Wednesday, July 25th, 2007 @ 9:33pm. Category: Reviews.Sunshine is awesome. It’s an intense, well-written and well-acted movie. I think it’s going to be one of the best science fiction films of this decade.
Carl found the list of screenings for me, so Jay and I went for free. :-)
I might review it in more depth later, but we all know that usually doesn’t happen. Read these guys and then come find me when the movie opens in the States in September.
Here’s an excerpt from Peet Gelderblom’s review:
It’s the cinematic oxymoron many of us have been waiting for: the thinking man’s action movie. It also happens to be gobsmackingly stunning, ruthlessly intense, handsomely cast and blessed with a 100% insane last act that won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but had yours truly grinning from ear to ear. Danny Boyle’s Sunshine is a spectacle quite impossible to put into words, and that’s exactly what makes it brilliant cinema–albeit the kind that’s difficult to defend on theoretical grounds.
If you still don’t want to see it, please note that Cillian Murphy is in it. You just can’t say no to that face.
