Notes from the Past Week or Two
Monday, September 10th, 2007 @ 8:16pm. Category: General.Tonight I have opened the windows for the first time since May. It is now cool enough while I’m awake to air out the house, and so I will air out my observances of wonderful things I have seen, done, and heard. I present them to you simply, without commentary.
A baby eating straight white gravy at the local fried chicken chain restaurant.
At the supermarket, Jay and I were searching for the ridiculously large bag of fake Frosted Mini Wheats (aka Frosted Mini Spooners, a much cuter name) but could only find the normal size. Behind us, a guy explained to his Chinese exchange student friend about the cost-effectiveness of Malt-o-Meal bagged cereals.
I put on nail polish that came in sticker form. There was no drying time.
At work, we caught a guy taking a temperature of the ice in an ice machine (the one thing it is ridiculous to temp, other than boiling water).
We lost an outlet to an electrical storm. We discovered this when we’d found the clock radio had been rendered into a theremin featuring static and the local soft rock station.

What do you think of the nail enamel? I’ve seen that various times in my mom’s Avon books, but I’ve never seen it used, or run across anyone who’s used it. I’m curious about it, though. Was it messy? Difficult? Easy as pie?
Inquiring minds, and all that. :)

It wasn’t messy at all. It quite literally is a sticker of nail enamel that hasn’t quite dried yet and so feels like a window cling. When you press it to the nail it sticks and stays just like normal nail polish.
The process is super-easy. The only tricky part is getting the enamel lined up when first pressing it to the nail.
I’m not sure if it’s worth $8/manicure (or pedicure). However, I know I could definitely squeeze two pedicures out of one set. The only trick would be keeping the other stickers packaged up from drying (which, if you’re careful when peeling, you can do so).
If you can get a free/discounted set, there’s no question about how awesome the no-drying-time bit is.
So far it’s acted just like any Avon nail polish– no chips, peels ect yet and it’s been about a week.
