Thanksgiving, and Xmas
Friday, November 23rd, 2007 @ 8:54pm. Category: General.Thanksgiving was pretty good this year, although Jay was sick so that put a really big damper on things. How big of a damper? Well, my parents sprung for a hotel room for Jay and I since I no longer had a bedroom at my parent’s house, and my mom felt bad about making a young couple sleep on the pull-out in the living room. This hotel room had a nice king-sized bed. Perhaps someday Jay and I can take advantage of having a hotel room to ourselves, but last night was not that night.
I did discover that king beds are way to large to be actually useful if you have nightstands that need to be accessed with any regularity.
The feast went OK anyway. The drive down was uneventful, save for Jay’s supreme uncomfortableness from being sick. When we got home we watched my dad launch his new hydrogen rocket, although it took a few tries to get the bugs shaken out. Yay electrolysis! The rocket flew a good 30-40ft. I made a cranberry sauce which was greatly celebrated (if you’ve only ever had canned sauce, you need to try making it from fresh berries once). My parents introduced us to the TV show Reaper, and we introduced the Apples to Apples game to my family. I will be surprised if they don’t have an Apples to Apples set when I come back for Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, it’s officially Christmas season now. I have decided that we need to do up the apartment a little for Christmas this year, and that means getting a tree. Now, we can’t have a real or artificial tree because Kaylee will eat it. Instead, I present to you my current solution:

The Christmas Lamp! We may or may not hang ornaments from it, depending on the curiosity of the cat.

It is not Christmas season until the Army-Navy football game.
