September.
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 @ 8:08pm. Category: General.August is usually the awful month for me: the new school year always makes things very hectic. I’ve been out of school and employed for almost two years now, and August has started sucking less. The farther removed from school the less stress it causes me.
September this year has been tiresome. I started out locking my keys in my car, then I worked 52hrs and 40m that week (even w/o the 8hrs of holiday we got for Labor Day). It’s also the end of a quarter at work so I have to get everything crossed off my list, which would have been much simpler if I wasn’t sick last week.
So have you had the cold yet? I watched it work its way through Facebook and finally into Jay. (Somebody ought to study Facebook and Twitter and their ilk as epidemiological tools.) I managed to stay well for a full 3 days after he started coming down with it. We had an improv show that weekend (which Jay hosted in a very medicated state) and I stayed out until 4am after it chatting at a friend’s house. I am absolutely certain that lack of sleep did me in. Sunday I woke up and felt dizzy and weak– but though nothing of it. I am not as young as I used to be and maybe I just didn’t handle 3 hours of sleep well anymore. Unfortunately, as the week progressed I got sicker. I stayed home from work for a day and a half and rested, which allowed me to be well enough for a friend’s wedding.
I like being busy, but I don’t like being busy and sick. My housework has gone to crap, I haven’t knitted, I haven’t been grocery shopping… I hope October is a kinder, gentler month this year.
